Recurring Events
PME Quantum Colloquium Series | First and Third Tuesdays, 10:00-11:00 A.M. | WERC 201B
Invited by Chicago Quantum Institute faculty members, speakers visit UChicago to discuss the latest developments in quantum science and engineering. The series runs throughout the academic year, every first and third Tuesday of the month, from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. in WERC 201B.
QISES: Student Seminar with Lunch | Mondays at 12:00 P.M.
The Quantum Information Science and Engineering Seminar (QISES) is a weekly gathering of the quantum community at the University of Chicago. Over an informal lunch, nearly 100 students, postdocs, and faculty from across departments and divisions gather to learn about and discuss new research. QISES topics appeal broadly to theorists, computationalists, and experimentalists.
Seminars occasionally feature talks from distinguished speakers - for example, an editor from Science - and offer a forum for open dialogue between faculty and students about the state of quantum research at UChicago.
Seminars take place in WERC 161 every Monday at 12:00 P.M. during the academic year unless otherwise noted. Anyone in the quantum community and who is a member of a research lab at UChicago is welcome to attend. Lunch is provided and no registration is required.
The AY26-27 QISES schedule is coming soon. Make sure to subscribe to the uchicago_quantum listserv to receive announcements about QISES and other quantum events and seminars.
Quantum Coffee Hour | Wednesdays at 2:00 P.M.
A regular meetup for researchers in the quantum space to catch up. The group meets on Wednesdays at 2:00 P.M., usually in the WERC atrium. Keep an eye out for weekly announcements on the precise location.
